KCH&G Magazine has published an article featuring the table that Picture Perfect Interiors designed for the DIFFA (Design Industry Foundation Fighting Aids) Dinning By Design benefit dinner in the current August issue. Below is the article. KCH&G Magazine can be found at your favorite new stand or by subscription.
FOOD AND DECOR MAKE AWONDERFUL PAIR, DON’T THEY? Nowhere is that more clear than at this spring’s Dining by Design event sponsored by DIFFA. This fundraiser for AIDS prevention and education brings together all creative types to imagine the most beautiful to almost practically impossible magical scenes for an intimate dinner party. From a hot pink graphical Kansas City skyline to a greenhouse enclosure, designers showed what it really means to create a sense of place. When we signed up to design a table for this signature evening, we turned to Brenda Freebern of Picture Perfect Interiors for help accessorizing. Having recently lost a dear friend, Brenda was inspired to pay tribute to someone who “lit up our lives.” She gathered black, gold and crystal lamps and massed them together at the center for a powerful impact. “It’s traditional with a little glam because Jim liked things over the top,” Brenda explains. Roses and Casablanca lilies in crystal vases encircled the centerpiece, and settings of red-rimmed china (left to Jim by a friend who died of AIDS) on gold chargers and a RM Coco damask tablecloth pulled the sophisticated color palette together.
